Thriving in Remote Work

Remote work is no longer a perk; it's an industry standard. However, visibility and communication become much harder when you aren't in the office. Here are the top strategies for accelerating your career while working from home.

1. Over-Communicate Proactively

In a remote setting, if people don't hear from you, they assume you aren't working. Don't wait for stand-up to share your progress. Send end-of-day summaries on Slack. Document your decision-making in Notion or Jira. Make your work highly visible.

2. Create a Psychological Boundary

Burnout happens much faster remotely because the line between home and work blurs. You must create a physical and psychological boundary. Dedicate a specific space ONLY for work. Furthermore, establish a "fake commute"—take a 15-minute walk before opening your laptop in the morning, and another walk when logging off to signal to your brain that the workday is over.
